Minor sound rule with q:
Top

You've already seen how when k– "I/my" comes right before a word that starts with k, the resulting double k becomes an aspirated kk — as in my fatherma koko

ma k–koko >     ma koko     "my father"
  no–k–kuti > nokuti "I'll see, watch"
When k– "I/my" comes right before a q, it becomes q itself, and then this double q becomes an aspirated qq:
ma k–qo > ma qo "my pet" ma qo my pet
no–k–qilik > noqilik "I will take care [of it]"
