Lesson 5 — Grammatical Topic — Prefix classes  

There are many prefixes in Samala. In past lessons you saw how the most common of them fit together, and you've learned another common prefix in this lesson: no–.
Here's a menu for how to start out a verb.
The only items you have to choose from this menu are a person marker and a verb root. The rest are optional, depending what you want to say.

Examples of some verbs with various combinations of these prefixes:
k–iy–utanin "we understand" the two of us will run
  ini–amín "he/she doesn't know"
  no–k–i-alpat "the two of us will run"
  no–ini–k–kuti nonikuti "I won't see/look"  
  –i–ukal "the two of them are strong" he/she won't say
  no–s–iy–mi noimi "they'll cry"
  no–ini–s–ip nonisip "he/she won't say"
  ini–k–i–esqen inikisesqen "the two of us won't ask"  
  p–ilkn "you two are sitting" we'll go down
  ini–s–iy–cc inisiccí "they're not sharp"
  no–k–iy–elew nokiyelew "we'll go down"
